This 12 pt. is one of kind in the Missouri Ozarks. Measurements were taken on the good side and doubled to come up with a score of about 179. Surely he can be measured to a more exact score, perhaps what he would be with the antlers not broken. The teeth were checked for age and there were none to be seen. We guessed this buck to be approximately 15 years old. Don't think he would have made it through another winter. Along with age, this buck had many battle scars from fighting, and some scars of been shot before as well. He was one tough buck in his day, until he crossed paths with Randy Phinney's path. Randy wasn't wearing any name brand camo, just what you see him in now, wearing his orange and packing a 30-30 with a scope.
This buck will be the talk of "The Boars Nest" for years to come.
Way to go Randy, hope you have more success as well!
